1. Player of the Year Samuel Eto’o Fils Any player of African origin playing within or outside Africa and excels above all in terms of achievement and performance during the year under review. The following is the basic criteria: - The performance of the player at national and international levels - The consistency of his performance - His sports achievements - His charisma and influence - His popularity 2. African-based Player of the Year Ahmed Hassan Any player of African origin who plays on the continent. His performance is based on either in the continental club championships (CC and CL), African Nations Championships, local championships among others. 3. Most Promising Talent of the Year Kwadwo Asamoah (Udinese and Ghana) The Young Player of the Year must be Under 23 years. He must show exceptional qualities and achieve an extraordinary feat with his club or national team in major competitions. 4. Women’s Footballer of the Year Perpetua Nkwocha (Sunnana SK and Nigeria) Awarded to any women’s footballer to have exhibited high quality and played an influential role in the national team’s performance at a major tournament as well as in good form for her club. She must also be disciplined and demonstrated high level of fair play as well. 5. Club of the Year TP Mazembe (DR Congo) The topmost club in the continental club championships (CC and CL) and must have exhibited high playing standard, tactical and technical play as well as fair play. 6. National team of the Year Ghana Any national team to have excelled and performed exceptionally above all. Must have qualified for a major competition during the year under review and achieved the ultimate as well. 7. Women’s National team of the Year Nigeria senior team Any women’s national team to have excelled and performed exceptionally above all. Must have qualified for a major competition during the year and achieved the ultimate as well. 8. Coach of the Year Milovan Rajevac – (Former Ghana Coach) The coach of the Year is rewarded to any coach working in association with an African team. It may be a non-African coaching an African team, national team or club. He must have guided the team to a major feat in a major championship during the year under review. 9. Presidential Awards (presidents of federations) Egypt – Samir Zaher Ghana – Kwesi Nyantakyi Algeria– Mohamed Raouraoua Cote d’ivoire – Jacques Anouma South africa – Kirsten Nematandani Cameroon- Iya Mohammed Nigeria- Aminu Maigari |
