CAF is concerned with piracy over the rights of its media partners

CAF official announcement with regard to the interruption of the signal of the media rights holders Aljazeera Sport:

“It is with great regret, that we have been informed that our media rights holders, Aljazeera Sport have been facing difficulties in delivering the images of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations 2012 to its viewers in the Middle East and North Africa.

CAF is appalled by any action to try to stop Al Jazeera's authorized transmissions of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations 2012, as such actions deprive football fans from enjoying the elite African competition in the MENA region.

These disruptions are clear violations of international laws governing broadcast transmission rights.

It is not acceptable to CAF, and we confirm our full support to our media right holders Aljazerra Sport in defending their legal rights.
