 NEWSAlgeria humiliated by Serbia 03-04-2010
The Algerian National team was soundly beaten by Serbia (0-3) in Algiers in an international friendly wednesday evening. The match was part of preparations for both sides who are preparing the final phase of the World Cup. The "Fennecs" dominated the first segment of the game but were could not concretise. Pantelic put the visitors ahead after lashing on a Jovanovic pass from the left flank. Algerian goalkeeper Gaouaoui who was returning from injury could not stop the move that sent Serbia ahead. Algeria tried to draw level at the 28th minute when left back Nadir Belhadj beautifully served forward Matmour but he wasted the chance. After the break Algeria proved to be the most enterprising side but their efforts could not result to any goal. Kuzmanovic doubled for Serbia after a poor clearance from the Algerian defense and Tosic ten minutes later made sure victory was assured with a third goal. |
