South Africa’s games against Ghana and Zambia downgraded to practice matches

South Africa’s Bafana Bafana will play Ghana and Zambia two sides who are holding training camp for Orange CAN 2012 finals in the Southern African state. The South African Football Association has announced that the two matches scheduled as friendlies will now be played as practices matches. Bafana Bafana will play Zambia in Atteridgeville on 11th of January before meeting Ghana four days later in Rustenburg. The downgrading of the match status is said to be so because South Africa will not be able to field a full representative team for both fixtures due to various reasons.
South Africa is scheduled to play a friendly game against Orange CAN 2012 co-hosts Equatorial Guinea on the 5th of January. The match will at Estadio de Bata will mark the official opening of the stadium which was built for the Orange CAN 2012 finals. South African coach Pitso Mosimane will take a squad of 22 to Equatorial Guinea.
