The reigning African footballer of the year Ivorian Yaya Toure was showered with praise by his club manager Roberto Mancini after he put on a five star display in a premiership league  match against Liverpool in a mid week fixture. Yaya was on target for Manchester City, scoring the club’s second goal in a 3-0 win. He then earned his side a penalty which was converted for the third goal and after the match Mancini was quoted saying  "He is a very important player. I have tried to find another Yaya in my squad but there isn't another Yaya," said Mancini.
Mancini is agonising over the month of January and possibly a good part of February when he will not have the services of Toure who will be playing in the Orange Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast . The African flagship tournament kicks off on 21st January with the final on the 12th of February and Toure is scheduled to leave for the Ivory Coast training camp after Sunday the 8th of January. Manchester City will play against their neighbours and rivals Manchester United in an FA Cup on Sunday in what should be Toure’s last game for his club before departing for national team duty . Mancini said “ For this reason January is a big month. If we can stay on the top of the table after January then I think we have a very good chance to win the league."
