Herve Rennard ( Zambia Coach ) : We are desolate. We thought we could hold on and we were getting there untill that mistake by the goalkeeper that gave the opposition the belief that they could come back into the game. I do not think our tactic was negative. we played according to the exigencies of the game, and there are no regrets whatsoever. all is not lost, we have the last mattch against Gabon and we know that if we beat them, we can still qualify.

Muelenga Jacob ( Zambia midfielder ) : I think we sat back for too long. we thought we could hold them, frustrate them, and counter attack when neccesary. We worked for 45 minutes , then that lucky goal and we crumbled. but we are happy with ourselves, it was a great game against a great team.

Paul Le Guen ( Cameroun Coach ) : It was a very difficult game. you could see that the Zambians had a tactic that was meant to shut us out. I am happy with the boys for beeing patient and not relenting. at the end of the day, it paid off. I am not taking anything away from Zambia. They gave it their all but at the end of the day, I believe the more experienced team, the better team won.
Etoo Fils ( Cameroun Captain) : I am proud to be a Camerounian and to belong to a team that has character and could rise to the occassion in the most difficult of times. It was a very difficult match, defeat starred us in the face, but we fought on quite aware of the implications of not getting the maximum points today.
