Subject : Angola line up Guinea friendly on June 13

The Palancas Negras of Angola will pitch their strength against their Guinean counterparts, Syli Nationale in an international friendly on June 13 in Lisbon, Portugal .

The clash is part of preparations for next year’s Africa Cup of Nation hosts for the continental show piece event whilst the Syli’s will use the game to fine-tune for their Group “E” 2010 World Cup/Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawi seven days later in Conakry.

Augusto Silva, General Secretary of Angola Football Federation (FAF) in a statement on the federation’s website said the game will be the first for new coach, Jose Manuel.

Manuel is currently in Angola for a CAF Confederation Cup 1/8th round second leg clash between Al-Ahly and Santos FC, which will be his last match in charge of the six-times Africa champions.

The team is expected to begin camping for the Guinea test on June 1.

Angola, who failed to progress to the final round of qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup/Africa Cup of Nations automatically, qualifies as hosts for next year’s continental fiesta.

The three-week tourney fixed for 10 to 31 January will take place in four cities namely Luanda, Cabinda , Benguela and Lobango.

This is the first time the Southern African country is hosting the biennial championship.
