Ethiopia prepares for Nigeria test
Ethiopia has begun preparations for their 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria later this month in Abuja.
The Walya Antelopes launched preparations on March 7 in Addis Ababa for the day three Group B clash, which they must avoid defeat to remain in contention for a place at the finals.
Head coach Iffy Onuora has called up 27 players with only Fikru Teferra of South African Premier Soccer League outfit, SuperSport being the only foreign-based.
Onuora has invited eight players from local dominant force, St. Georges, who are enjoying a terrible spell, and occupy sixth place in the 15-week championship, 10 points adrift of leaders Defence Force.
The league leaders also have six players for the encounter.
Ethiopia have three points, same as Nigeria with Guinea firmly at the top with the maximum six points from two games and Madagascar at the bottom pointless.
