Hosts Equatorial Guinea finished group stages of the 8th African Women Championship (AWC) finals with a warning note for  their next opponent in semi final after hammering hard fighting Senegal 5-0 in the match played on Saturday at Malabo Stadium.

While Senegalese will be packing for home without a point, Equatorial Guinea topped the group with six points after winning all three matches and now will face Group B runners up in the first semi final on Wednesday at Malabo Stadium from 2.30 pm local time. Second semi final will be played at the same day at Nkoantoma Stadium in Bata from 5.30pm.
The winners who won their first two matches; 1-0 against South Africa and 6-0 over DR Congo has a better share of the match with several misses in the first half . Their celebrations started five minutes after the first whistle of Malawian Grace Msiska when striker Jade Boho notched the opening following failure to clear the ball by Senegalese defence.

It was Boho again who scored the second in 14th minute. Senegal's goalie Ouleye Dieye punched back into play a fierce shot from Adriana Costa and Boho slotted home the rebound. A minute later Adriana Costa gave Nzalang Nacional (nation's light) their third goal.

On resumption, Senegal coach Diaby Bassouari made several changes in a bid to control the game, but charging Equatorial Guinea marched on. It took them two minutes after restart to score  their fourth goal through Jumaria Barbosa. Captain Genoveva Anonman rounded up  Equatorial Guinea’s victory  in the 72nd minute.
In another Group A match played the same day in Bata, South Africa joins hosts Equatorial Guinea in the semis after smashing DR Congo 4-1. South Africa finished second in the group and will play the second semi final on Wednesday in Bata against winners of Group B.
