NEWSSatellites tame Young Warriors 07-26-2010
Ghana’s Black Satellites beat their Namibian counterparts 4-0 in their Orange African Youth Championship qualifier on Sunday at the Ohene Djan Stadium. A brace from Goals from Frank Achemapong and a goal each from Mahatma Otoo and Abdul Aziz Yusif gave the Satellites a seemingly convincing win ahead of the second leg billed for Windhoek in a fortnight. Captain Otoo shot the hosts into the lead after two minutes by heading in from lanky strike partner Kwame Nsor’s cross from the right. Seven minutes on, Nsor was the provider again as Acheampong slammed home a half volley that left Namibian goalie Collin Ndjai with no option. The Satellites who failed to capitalize on the dominance went up for the third time in the game on 65 minutes substitute Yusif before Acheampong sealed victory with his second of the game in the closing stages. Ghana, the reigning Africa and World Champions will travel to Windhoek in a fortnight for the second leg. |
