Rwanda win, but bow out

Rwanda’s U-20s, Junior Wasps managed a 2-1 victory over visiting Congo Brazzaville in the Africa Youth Championship qualifier on Sunday, but still bowed out on a 3-2 goal aggregate.
Coached by U-20 World Cup winning coach Sellas Tetteh (won with Ghana last year), the Junior Wasps came from behind to level on 43rd minute through striker Kipson Atuheire and Jean Claude Iranzi on 53rd minute.
Boukama Kaye had put the visitors in the lead after beating skipper Amani Uwilingiyimana and looped a loose ball past goalie Patrick Rutayisire.
The Junior Wasps got four chances from Atuheire with three going off target before settling the other in the net.
Jamal Mwiseneza, Bienfait Kabanda and Abdul Karim Gashugi did a wonderful job in the midfield for the hosts but they failed to make it count as they went to miss plenty of other chances in the second half.
Makaya Henrino, Babele Jagesse and Boukama Kaya got clear opportunities to overturn the goal score but brilliant Rutayisire out them at bay.
Rwanda followed other nations in the East and central region Uganda, Sudan and Tanzania to exit the qualifying phase.
