NEWSWe now stand a chance to qualify at home - APR coach Brandts 02-18-2012
Rwanda side APR coach Ernis Brandts is confident that they will complete the job at home after forcing a goalless draw away to Kenya's Tusker FC in the preliminary match of the Africa Champions League at Nyayo Stadium on Saturday. Speaking to Cafonline.com after the match, Brandts said he was optimistic that the job will be completed in Kigali in a fortnight’s time. Cafonline.com: How did you see the match today? Brandts: We gave our best and a 0-0 draw gives us advantage. We knew they will attack us from onset but we defended very well. We will now prepare well for the return leg match and playing at home will definitely boost our chances.
Cafonline.com: Are you happy with the outcome of the match? Brandts: In a way yes...but I could have enjoyed a win. We had the best performance in the second half but could not find the back of the net. It was also good that we did not concede. That boosts our chances of doing better in the return leg.
Cafonline.com: What did you make of the opposition team? Brandts: They were good in the first half but we improved in the second. I like the way they played. They have good players and it was shocking that they couldn't score in the first half. We will not underrate them in return match because they look like a team that can cause an upset. |
