NEWSVan der Pluijm – “It was a difficult game” 04-30-2012
Head coach of Berekum Chelsea, Johannes Van der Pluijm has ruined his team’s inability to make good use of their chances in their /8th round Orange CAF Champions League against Coton Sport at home on Sunday. The Dutchman reckons that it was a difficult test playing against the tactically disciplined Coton Sport, but believes his team could have at least hit the back of the net. “I’m very disappointed with the result. It was a difficult game but we deserved to have scored at least.” Van der Pluijm blamed his players against his technical advices as they failed to score for the first time in the continental club championship. “My players did not play to instructions. Also, Solomon Asante had two glaring chances to score but he failed to covert.” With the tall order facing them in the second leg, the Berekum Chelsea coach remains upbeat about their chances. “All is not lost yet. We can go there (Garoua), score and qualify. It is possible,” said Van der Pluijm. The second leg will take place in a fortnight in the Northern Cameroonian city of Garoua. |
