Ahly coach Youssef - We want to win the derby
09-13-2012

Egyptian club side Al Ahly already guaranteed a semi-final spot in the 2012 Orange CAF Champions League entertains compatriots and arch rivals Zamalek this Sunday in a Group B match day 6 fixture scheduled at the Alexandria Burg El Arab stadium. Ahly is looking for a win and hope that DR Congo's TP Mazembe doesn’t win against Ghana's Berekum Chelsea in the other group game in Accra so that the  “Red Devils” can top the group. Ahly assistant coach Mohamed Youssef told Cafonline.com that his charges want a derby victory.

Cafonline.com: How do you see Ahly's game against Zamalek this Sunday?

Youssef: It's going to be a tough game for both teams as are all the derby games between Ahly and Zamalek, whatever the circumstances are. Usually these encounters are exciting and unpredictable, and we hope both teams will produce a game up to expectations, especially that they will play without pressure after Ahly qualified and Zamalek bowed out of the competition.

Cafonline.com: How are your preparations going for this match?

Youssef: We had our regular training sessions and we played against ENPPI in the Egyptian Super Cup last week a game we won  2-1. We'll have a 48 hours camp in Alexandria prior to the match.

Cafonline.com: You are going to the game without Mohamed Abou Treika who was suspended after he asked not to play the Super Cup. How do you see that?

Youssef: This is from the past now and our focus is on the next game. Abou Treika apologized for what he did and he accepts his ban. The players are determined to win this match, and Abou Treika will be back after his two months' suspension is served.

Cafonline.com: How do you rate Zamalek side that you face on Sunday?

Youssef: Zamalek is a great team and everyone knows that. Failing to qualify this year doesn’t mean we're going to underrate them. We'll give our best looking for victory.

Cafonline.com: Berekum Chelsea against Mazembe will be played simultaneously with your game. Will you be keeping an eye on that match?

Youssef: We're going into our game against Zamalek searching for victory regardless what happens in Accra. We have to win first then see what happens there to know our position and our semi final opponents.

Cafonline.com: Are you going to rest some players especially those close to suspension?

Youssef: We may do that because some players like Wael Gomaa and Ahmed Fathy will be suspended for two games if they are booked. But we haven’t decided yet. We'll discuss that issue among the technical staff and then make the right decision.

Cafonline.com: Do you have all players available to play?

Youssef: We'll miss Waleed Sulleiman who is suspended and Abou Treika for his ban. Mohamed Naguib is injured and will undergo a fitness test. Mohamed Barakat's injury is a minor one and won't stop him from playing. Strikers Emad Meateb and Brazilian Fabio Junior are back from injury but will wait for the technical decision whether to take part or not.
