JS Kabylie goes down at home to MAS and records a fifth consecutive loss
JS Kabylie of Algeria lost 1-0 to Morocco’s MAS of Fes on Saturday at the 5th July stadium in Algiers during match day 5 of the Orange Confederation Cup Group B encounter.
The solitary goal of the match came through Hamza Bourazouk at the 55th minute, following a shot in the 18 meter box that beat goalkeeper Mazari.
The visiting team maintained the lead in spite of some timid attempts by Algerian side which went on till the end of the game.
JS Kabylie started the match already eliminated in the group stage of the competition, after four defeats in four matches and were keen to make up to their home fans by winning their last home game. The small crowd in the stadium were treated to another feeble attempt by the home side who went on to record a fifth consecutive loss in the competition (the third one at home.)
It is the first time in the history of the Djurdjura club to have recorded such poor results in a continental competition. JS Kabylie has won six African club competition cups.
JSK even risks ending this stage of the competition with no point, because for their last game of the group phase they travel to Nigeria to play Sunshine Stars who are still on course for qualification and will need a win be sure of a semi-final place.
While JSK is in tears, MAS of Fes is celebrating as the Moroccan club is on good footing for in the place at the semi-finals.
