Sudan's Al-Hilal club will host Angolan giants InterClube in Omdurman city on match day 4 of group A of the Orange CAF Confederation Cup. Al-Hilal’s French coach Diego Garzitto told Cafonline.com he wants to win this weekend’s match and pick up what may well be the most Important points for his team in this competition.
Cafonline.com: What do you make of your home match against InterClube?
Garzitto: A very important one, as we dropped two points in our last home game in this competition. Winning at home is vital if a team wants to reach semi-finals so we will try to do everything possible to win the remaining home games, starting this weekend.
Cafonline.com: Your defence line seemed troubled in Luanda , how do you intend to rectify that?
Garzitto: InterClube has excellent strikers and they played well against our defence but for this match we have modified our system of play to accommodate InterClube’s threats. During Friday's game we will not play with the same defensive set up as we did in Angola.
Cafonline.com: What kind of a game do you expect this Friday?
Garzitto: Although we are playing at home, the game will not be easy, and we noticed that lately every team playing at home in this competition has been feeling more pressure than usual. It will be a tough game and will demand a lot from both sides mentally too. If we won against InterClube, they will be out of competition for semi-final spot while we pretty much confirm our semi-final place, so it sets up a competitive match indeed this weekend.
Cafonline.com: How do you expect to InterClube to play against Hilal in Omdurman?
Garzitto:We will play against an excellent team, in InterClube, that's why Al-Hilal's players should be ready for this challenge and play to win. InterClube will do everything in this game in order to win. They will attack not sit back but in so doing they will leave spaces behind them, so we also will do everything to take advantage of this scenario.
Cafonline.com: How ready is your team for the Friday's encounter?
Garzitto:Preparations have gone well so far and the atmosphere around the camp is great. We've brought the players together in a camp far from the down town to make them full concentrate on this game.
Cafonline.com: How do you rate Al-Hilal chances of qualifying for the semi-finals?
Garzitti: We have two matches at home remaining and if we won both that will take us to 11 points and l think that should be enough to see us qualify for the semis. We have our chances to lead the table and we intend to use them , of course we still have another match away to Al-Merreikh which may determine who tops the group.
Cafonline.com: What is best result you are hoping for from the game?
Garzitto: The main thing for us is getting the full points, even if we won by only a goal.
