NEWSWe want to reach the final – Al-Merrikh's Saeed Mustafa 11-09-2012
Al-Merreikh’s Saeed Mustafa declared that his side is ready to put their name on the winners of the Africa Confederation Cup but have to beat their visitors this weekend. Conolese side Athlétic Club Léopards de Dolisie are the opponents in the Orange CAF Confederation Cup semi-final 2nd leg in Omdurman and they bring a 2-1 lead from the first leg. The Al- Merreikh deputy captain told Cafonline.com that the most important thing is to reach the final. Cafonline.com: Leopards brings a 2-1 lead into this weekend’s match, do you feel you can overturn that result at home? Saeed Mustafa: We managed to score a goal away from home and that spurs us to go into this weekend’s match with a positive outlook. Losing away by a difference of one goal is considered a good result. We now have a good opportunity to win in Omdurman even by a difference of only one goal to qualify for the final. Cafonline.com: What is your assessment of Leopards after facing them in Dolisie? Saeed Mustafa: We were talking about Leopards even before the match. They are a good team because it reached the semi-finals. They are fierce players who play as a collective entity and are full of energy because they are young. Al-Merreikh, on the other hand, has better technical capacities. We expect to beat them on Saturday because this time we will be playing at home and among our fans. Cafonline.com: What kind of match do you expect in Omdurman? Saeed Mustafa: It will not be an easy match. We will try and dictate the proceedings from the beginning by scoring in the first half. This will require the support of our fans. We do not wish Leopards to grow in confidence if we fail to score early. |
