NEWSPost Match Reaction: Uganda vs Senegal 06-11-2012
I kept my nerve for the penalty - Walusimbi Cafonline.com: What went on in your mind when you stepped up to take the penalty? Walusimbi: It was not easy for me especially as were a goal down. But the coach had given instructions that I take all the set pieces. So I was ready for anything. I kept my nerve and rescued a point for the team. Cafonline.com: What went wrong in the first half going forward? Walusimbi: We panicked a lot in that period may be because we were playing a high profile team, Senegal. Everybody was in hurry to release the ball and kick high balls upfront which was comfortable for Senegal. But our coach (Bobby Williamson) told us to stay calm. You could see in the second half were pressurizing Senegal defenders and managed to get a penalty. I am disappointed with the result- Pappis Cisse Cafonline.com: When the match ended you hit the ground a sign of frustration. What was that all about? Cisse: Yes I was not happy with the result. A point is good away from home but we should have won this match and take all three points. Cafonline.com: What do think went wrong in a match you dominated? Cisse: We lost concentrationand conceded al late penalty. We were focused and kept out formation for long periods until that fatal moment. Cranes is a good side which deserves credit for the way they battled and fought back to force a draw. |
