Red Scorpions have won the 2014/15 Gambia Football Federation Women’s FA Cup following a 2-0 win against Immigration last Saturday (13 June 2015) at the Serrekunda East mini stadium.

After a barren first half, Red Scorpions opened the scoring on 68 minutes through Aminata Camara from the spot.

Forward Adama Tamba put the match beyond the reach of Immigration, finishing with a powerful strike three minutes before time to seal victory.

Awa Tamba, twin sister of goal scorer (Adama) was shown the marching off orders in added-on time for a second yellow card, but Red Scorpions went unscathed through the final whistle.

The knockout cup crown also came with a financial package of D50, 000 for the winners Red Scorpions, whilst Immigration were D30, 000 richer for finishing as runners up .

The ‘Red Girls’ failed to defend their league crown they won last season, finishing in second place with 25 points, just a point separating them and eventual champions, Interior.
