CAF ORGANIZES COURSE FOR ELITE B REFEREES IN KIGALI

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has organized a five-day training course for Elite “B” Referees to prepare them for the upcoming CAF competitions and update their knowledge and skills in the conduct of their duties.

 

The CAF Elite B Referees Course held in Kigali (Rwanda) from 7 September to 11 of September 2018 targeted Referees and Assistant Referees including Women Referees in the Elite “B” category of CAF Refereeing Development grading system.

 

Thirty-one (31) participants made of 15 Referees, 12 Assistant Referees and 7 Women Referees including the women trio who will represent CAF during the FIFA U17 Women Championship.

 

The main objectives of the five-day course were to prepare the Referees for the upcoming CAF competitions, identify potential Elite A referees, familiarize the participants with the new concepts of refereeing and identify potential candidates for CAF upcoming U20 and U17 Final tournaments.

 

The participants went through medical and physical test, while theoretical topics included evaluation and integrity test.

 

Instructors included Jerome K. Damon (South Africa), Mohamed Guezzaz (Morocco), Aline Bitagoye (Burundi) and Mohamed Hussein Ali (Djibouti).
