Ponga Liwewe (General Secretary, Football Association of Zambia)
Zambia seems to be getting tough draws, similarly to the World Cup. For this tournament, we have Guinea, Egypt and Mali. Teams from West Africa and North Africa tend to be dominant sides. Zambia is already putting in a lot of work with the selection of players and the training will be intensified. Our ambition as a country is to lift the trophy.
Mohamed Abdallah ‘Mazda’ (Supervisor of Sudan national teams)
We have been handed the strongest group with Senegal, Cameroon and South Africa, good when it comes to youth football due to the reliance on football academies. Our ambition is to go farthest. In the qualifiers, we did well beating Nigeria. We are looking forward to good preparations, which will commence in earnest. For the first in over many years, we are back in the final tournament, and we hope to go through. We believe in the ability of our players.
