Two victories, one draw and one defeat: the record of the continent's four teams competing in Poland is more than positive. From the opening match, the Teranga Cubs took the best of Tahiti.

A success (3-0) thanks to the excellent Amadou Sagna who scored a hat-trick, including the fastest goal in the tournament's history after only 9 seconds of play! Senegal is first in Group A. The offensive fireworks continued with Nigeria sweeping Qatar (4-0). With a two-goal lead from the 25th minute, the Flying Eagles managed this game from start to finish and are leading Group D with a higher goal difference. Mali, the recent winner of the AFCON in this category, was held in check by Panama (1-1). The Eagles may blame themselves for conceding a penalty in the final minutes after a game they dominated. South Africa, the last African team to start the tournament, crashed in the last 30 minutes of their duel against Argentina. This defeat (2-5) darkens a little the good record of the African teams on this Polish World Cup .
