Tunisian and Zamalek midfielder, Ferjani Sassi has been ruled out of six weeks after undergoining a successful surgery on 17 April 2019.

Sassi limped off during Zamalek’s Total CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final second leg against Hassania Agadir in Suez, which the latter won 1-0 to progress to the last four.

“The surgery was supervised by National team doctor, Souhail Chemli. The rehabilitation will start in a week at the Tunisian FA’s headquarters using the latest technologies,” Tunisia Football Federation (FTF) said in statement last Wednesday.

“I thank God. I want to assure everyone in Tunisia and in Egypt that the surgery was a success” Sassi told FTF in a video released Wednesday.

“Ferjani Sassi is expected to be ready for the upcoming preparation camp for the National team ahead of the 2019 Cup of Nations.” FTF added.

The Carthage Eagles housed in Group E alongside Angola, Mali and Mauritania will be hoping to have the 27-year old for the continental showdown.
