Stakeholders of Namibian football got an experience of the Club Licensing System when the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) in partnership with the Namibia Football Association (NFA) organized a seminar from 19-20 May 2016 in Windhoek.

The Southern African country was the latest of many others to have hosted the national seminar that seeks to review the objectives and regulations of the Club Licensing System and the league structure.

It was also to review the process at the national level and also the progresses made on each of the criteria namely Administrative, Finance, Legal, Infrastructure and Sporting; and as well identify challenges.

The two-day seminar also offered a platform for the exchange of ideas amongst the various stakeholders of Namibia football geared towards the establishment of a three-year roadmap.

NFA Secretary General Barry Rukoro described the seminar as a vital tool in the forward direction of the development of the game.

“We have come a long way with this licensing aspect of our game and we now have reached another important milestone as this course comes to Namibia and from here we hit the ground running. Club licensing is the way to go in this regard,” said Rukoro.

Instructors for the seminar are Dennis Mumble (South Africa) – Administration, Finance and Legal; Maxwell Mtonga (Malawi) – Infrastructure and Honour Janza (Zambia) – Sporting.

More than 30 National Associations have so far organised the national seminars which took off in September 2015.
