Cote D’ Voire national beach soccer team have the early advantage over Uganda following a 3-1 away victory during the first leg of the CAF Beach soccer 2018 qualification match played at Spenah beach, Entebbe on Sunday.

Eric Bile Sidonne Kablan Assouan, Daniel N’guessan Kouassitchi and Frederic Aka Kablan were on target for the West Africans.

Uganda’s consolation goal, coming in the final period of the well-attended game was scored by the team captain, Douglas Muganga.

Sidonne shot the Ivorians ahead in the opening period after a mouth melee at goal.

N’guessan beat goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige to double the lead with a simple finish as the visitors built a precious two goal caution.

Cote D’Ivoire’s third goal arrived in the second period when Franck Papet Hyacinthe dribbled past the Ugandan defence to set up Aka with the simplest of all finishes, extending the lead to 3-0 coming to the final period of the game.

Uganda’s skipper Muganga led by example with a great goal to reduce the score line and raise the expectations for the home team. 

The two countries are vying for a slot to the finals of the 2018 CAF beach soccer championships that will be hosted by Egypt.

There is a lot to play for prior to the return leg that will be played on 22nd September 2018 in Abidjan.
