The ceremony lasted for about 45 minutes at a packed Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde. It was the closing ceremony of the 10th edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Cameroon 2016.

It was a colourful ceremony with a rendition of rich display of culture intended as a tribute to Africa in all its diversity with special mention to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the promotion of women's football and to the Cameroonian President Paul Biya for his support towards the successful organization of the tournament.

The first segment was a display of the cultural richness of Africa by executing the rhythms of the five main regions of the continent (North, West, Central, Eastern and Southern Africa).

The second part was a recall of events with plaudits to CAF and the Cameroonian authorities most of whom were seated in the VIP and Presidential tribunes.

The third and final part was the musical show with artistes such as Thierry Sandio, writer and composer famous for his days as a member of the team of renowned Senegalese musician Youssou N’dour.

Then came choreographic performances from students from selected senior High Schools, University of Yaounde and University of Buea, the city that hosted teams from Group B.
