Njie looking forward to a double over KCCA

FUS Rabat forward Yusupha Njie has said they are in Kampala to pick maximum point against Uganda champions, Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA) in their Group A Day five clash on Sunday.

The two teams will faceoff at the Philip Omondi Stadium in what is expected to be a thriller. Although the Moroccan side leads the group with superior goal difference, all the teams in the group including Nigeria’s Rivers United and Club Africain of Tunisia have six points each.

“Although we have not won any game away from home in the group, we must make it happen this time because it is a crucial stage,” said Njie, who netted one of the goals when FUS Rabat beat KCCA FC 3-0 in the previous meeting in Rabat last May.

Despite the unavailability of some key players for the crucial encounter, the Gambian-import insists they are determined for victory to improve their chances of qualifying for the quarter finals.

“We know KCCA has not lost a game at home, but we are ready to prove a point,” he added.

Njie is expected to join Portuguese side, Boavista, on a season-long loan deal next week and is hoping to sign off in grand style by powering his side to a result that will take them closer to the knockout stage.

“Les Fussistes” coach Hoalid Regragui also added that they are focused on a result that won’t affect their status at the top of the summit.

“Playing away from home has been one of our problems and this time we must improve,” noted Regragui.

On the other hand, KCCA will be boosted by the presence of midfielder Saddam Ibrahim Juma, whose registration was finalized earlier in the week. The gifted player was signed over a month ago from rivals Express FC.

“We are happy that Juma will now be available together with Peter Magambo. We need to take our chances and win at home because the group is still open and we can make it to the quarter final stage,” said KCCA FC coach Mike Hillary Mutebi.

The “Kasasiro Boys” will however miss the services of defender Habib Kavuma Kavuma, who is suspended following a red card in their Day Four clash against Rivers United away in Port Harcourt two weeks.

Meanwhile, Rivers host Club Africain in the other Groyup A match also on Sunday in Port Harcourt.
