Algeria advance despite Zambia loss
Algeria have qualified for the next stage of the London 2012 Olympic Games qualifier despite a 0-2 loss to Zambia on Saturday in Chingola.
The Algerians progressed 3-2 on aggregate thanks to their 3-0 victory in the first leg two weeks ago in Algiers.
The Zambians in each half through Venicious Mapanda and Derrick Mwanza, but it was little enough to the tide in their favour despite their opponents finishing the game with a man less.
Algerian have confirmed their place at the next round that will feature eight teams of two groups. The group winners automatically qualify for the tournament with runners-up engaging each other for the third spot.
The loser of the playoff will face a team from Asia for the final spot.
