Mbabane Swallows crowned Swazi champions

Mbabane Swallows were crowned Swaziland champions at the Somhlolo National Stadium after collected the win they needed to beat Royal Leopard to the title. On the last day of matches the “Beautiful Birds” summoned all their quality and determination to overcome bitter rival, Manzini Wanderers 1- 0 and finish on 47 points two more than second place Leopard. The only goal of the match was scored by Sabelo Ndzinisa. Mbabane Swallows produced the top goal scorers in the last three of the four seasons and in Sabelo Ndzinisa they have discovered a prolific goal-getter. His 14 goals this season were only 3 shy of this season’s top scorer, Nhlanhla Kunene of Malanti Chiefs. Ndzinisa’s performance has been even more impressive when you consider that this is his first season playing in the top league.

Royal Leopard who have had a storming run in the Orange CAF Confederation Cup reaching the 1/8 round , unchartered waters for Swaziland Clubs, finished second.

The ‘Beautiful Birds’ are about $75 000 richer for coming first and will compete in the Orange CAF Champions league next year.
