Heartland of Owerri will again represent Nigeria in next year's CAF Confederation Cup after they defeated Lobi Stars 2-1 at the weekend in the Federation Cup final.
Heartland, who won the cup competition last year, came back from a fifth minute goal by Ezekiel Bassey to draw level through Jolly Osas in the 30th minute of an entertaining cup final.

Big striker Brendan Ogbu fired the winner in stoppage time when he headed past Lobi goalkeeper John Lawrence. Heartland took control of the game after their equaliser, but in the second half Lobi, who are also in the hunt for the country's league championship, created more chances but failed to convert any of them. The last team to successfully defended the Nigeria cup competition was Dolphin in 2007.
