2013 CECAFA-Kagame club cup competition draw released
The stage is set for the 2013 CECAFA-Kagame club cup competition in North Darfur and South Gordofan from June 18th to July 2nd after the draws and fixtures were released at a colourful ceremony in Khartoum Monday.
The Secretary General of CECAFA Nicholas Musonye and Kagame cup organsining committee chairman Raoul Gisanura from Rwanda presided over the ceremony at Conrinthians Hotels.
The tournament to be staged in the far West Al Fasher in North Darfur and Kadugli in far South Gordofan State has attracted a record 13 clubs. The ceremony was attended by top SFA officials, Sudan Government officials and representatives from the two hosting states.
Musonye hailed the SFA, the Government of Sudan and the two Governors for their total commitment to host one of the major competitions in the CECAFA zone. He also hailed president Paul Kagame of Rwanda for standing with CECAFA for the last decade during which time the fortunes of CECAFA have changed tremendously.
Musonye was optmistic that the tournament in Darfur and South Gordofan will be a huge success and will contribute to the peace and development initiatives in the Sudan. The CECAFA delegation has been in Darfur and Gordofan for the last six days finalising the arrangements for the event. see the attached fixtures.
