FIFA president Joseph Sepp Blatter is convinced the 2010 World Cup in South Africa will be a success.
“I am convinced that the World Cup in South Africa shall be a great success" said Blatter.
“I hope it will help Africa convince the rest of the World that it has formidable potentials", added the football boss in an interview granted le Figaro Thursday, a significant date as just 365 more days are remaining for the World Cup to begin.

For Sepp Blatter, " The World Cup must benefit the entire African continent "."Our programme Win in Africa with Africa cements this wish," continued the FIFA boss.

He added that stepping up the quality of local leagues will help develop the game and potential of African footballers.

On that aspect, Sepp Blatter recalled that there is need for a good reflection in the transfer policy of players and urged vigilance in the transfer of minors which he said was unacceptable. Talking on the problem of security during the event, Blatter expressed confidence that South Africa will be able to withstand the challenge for the good of all. Finally he made known his intentions to continue in his position after 2011 when his current mandate expires, hoping the different federations will renew their confidence in him.
