Decisions of CAF Executive Committee

The Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) under the leadership of President Issa Hayatou met on Thursday, November 19, in Luanda, Angola. The following decisions were taken:

1. The extensive progress reports on the Orange African Cup of Nations, Angola 2010, regarding the four venues with respect to organizational and infrastructural requirements for the tournament were presented by the various heads of the CAF Inspection team. The CAF Inspection team visited the four cities Luanda, Cabinda, Benguela and Lobango from 18 – 19 November.
The Executive Committee expressed satisfaction with the reports presented , hosting  the tournament has led to the upgrading and building of new facilities at the four venues.

The Executive Committee also commended the Angolan Government for putting up for four new stadia for the successful hosting of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations.

CAF President Issa Hayatou lauded the idea of having the Africa Cup of Nations biannually since between 2008 and 2010; the continent has seen eight new stadia which has contributed enormously to the development of the game.

The Executive Committee also approved the procedure for the draw of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations, Angola 2010. The draw is slated for Friday, November 20 at the International Conference Centre in Talatona, Luanda.
 
2. CAF Inter-Clubs competitions
The Executive Committee approved an amendment to increase the additional number of players to be registered for the CAF Inter-Clubs competitions from the group phase. Initially, participating clubs are entitled to register not more than five (5), whilst the amendment allows them to register seven (7) players, but the overall number of registration remains same (30 players).
