Rwanda sack Croatian coach The Rwanda Football Federation (Ferwafa) has finally ended their relationship with national team coach Branko Tucak. The Croatian who earned only one point Rwanda in the 2010 World Cup/Africa nations Cup qualifier was reportedly sacked on Monday. The Rwanda FA’s executive board voted to end Tucak’s term after holding an emergency meeting on Monday last evening. To qualify for next year’s event, Rwanda needed to win Zambia’s Chipolopolo by a 2-0 margin. They went in favourites, as the game was at Amahoro but were frustratingly held to a goalless draw, missing out on a ticket to Angola. Under the coach, Amavubi had an unconvincing run of results. New Kenyan champions Sofapaka complete league in style Newly crowned Kenyan league champions Sofapaka finished the season in style with a hard fought 2-1 win over Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) on Sunday. Patrick Kagogo gave Sofapaka the lead in the 15th minute before fellow Congolese Bob Mugalia added the second in the 65th minute. Veteran Kenya defender Pascal Ochieng' pulled one back for KCB in the 81st minute of the match at Hope Centre, Kawangware. In the other games, Bandari who were beaten 2-1 by Mathare United in Nairobi were relegated to the lower division. Sony Sugar also turned on the heat in their 2-0 home win at Awendo against Western Stima with Sylvester Wanyama and Jack "Kadwaro" Omondi scoring in each half. Former champions Tusker beat Chemelil Sugar 3-0, Gor Mahia fell 1-0 to Sher Karuturi, Thika United beat Ulinzi Stars 1-0, and Agro Chemicals went down 2-0 to AFC Leopards. Atraco take over Rwanda league lead Rwanda’s Cup winners Atraco have taken over the lead in the national league after a 1-0 victory over AS Kigali on Sunday. The Cecafa Kagame regional Cup champions moved two points against arch-rivals APR who were held to a barren draw against Electrogaz FC. “We need to maintain our momentum and win games with ease,” said Atraco’s Ugandan born coach Sam Timbe. Congolese import Jean Lomami scored the lone goal for Atraco. In the other games played over the weekend, Etincelles were held to a 1-all draw by Police, while Kiyovu defeated Amagaju 2-0 and Musanse struggled to stop Marines 2-1. The Rwanda Football Federation (Ferwafa) has suspended the league to give room to the national team preparing for the forth coming Cecafa Orange Seneior Challenge Cup slated for November 28 to December 13 in Kenya.
