Adiyiah rules his genre

The year 2009 will go down as one of the most memorable for Ghana youth international, Dominic Adiyiah.
 
For the talented forward, the year was synonymous with honours and awards, and the peak of it is his coronation as the Young Player of the Year by the continent’s soccer controlling body at the Glo-CAF Award held in his native.
 
“This is a great moment for me. This achievement remains the dreams of every young player and proud to have attained it. This is just the beginning and I hope to clim my way to the top successfully as well,” Adiyiah said.
 
 
Now on the books of Italian giants, AC Milan, the youngster warded off opposition from South African U-20 forward Kermit Erasmus and Emmanuel Sani, Golden Ball and Silver Shoe at the FIFA U-17 World Cup held in Nigeria last November.
 
Adiyiah was the star of the Ghanaian team that beat Brazil on penalties to the ultimate at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt last year, where he scooped the Golden Ball and Golden Shoe.
 
Not only did the Black Satellites become the first African team to win the biennial championship sinvce its inception in 1997, Adiyiah also chalked an incredible individual success being the first African to achieve the Golden Ball and Golden Shoe in the history of the Championship.
 
He also played an integral role in the feats chalked by the Black Satellites during the WAFU Cup and the African Youth Championship held in Kigali, Rwanda in January 2009.
 
Adiyiah is a product of the famous Fetteh Feyenoord Academy, a feeder academy of Dutch giants Feyenoord, but would emerge into the fan’s favourite since joining Heart of Lions.
 
 
He joined Norwegian side Fredisktad FK ion August 2008, before his performances at the FIFA U-20 World Cup landed him dream move to AC Milan early this year.
 
The youngster described his being named the Best youth player on the continent as a memorable day in his life.
