Defending Orange Champions league Champions Tout Puissant Mazembe have sacked their coach who led them to continental glory last year. Diego Garzitto was fired on Monday after a poor string or results and he was immediately replaced by expereinced Senegalese coach Lamine Ndiaye. Ndiaye is a man who knows African football well having played for Senegal himself as well as trained multiple Cameroon Champions Coton Sport of Garoua and the Senegalese National team.

Mazembe’s heavy loss to Espérance in Tunis is said to have been the immediate factor that led to the coach’s sack. Ndiaye’s first major challenge will be to help TP Mazembe win their upcoming game against Dynamos of Harare. The away leg tie ended (2-0) in favour of the D R side thanks to two gaols from Zambian striker Given Singuluma.
Inorder to better prepare the challenge TP Mazembe played a friendly match on Tuesday against a local championship side and they defeated Racing Club Génération montante 4-0. New coach lamine Ndiaye hopes the players will find their goal scoring touch as they did on Tuesday as he is desperate to lead the African Champions to the semi final rounds.
The Zimbabweans will be playing their best football when they arrive Lubumbashi as they know any blush will take them out of the competition. Assistant coach Simon Chuma believes they can beat T P in Lubumbashi.« they are beatable », he said despite the fact that the team will be handicapped by the absence of about half a dozen of its regulars due to injury and suspension.
