CAF Club Competitions entry procedures for 2011

The Confederation of African Football, CAF, is informing the general public the entry procedures for CAF Club Competitions for 2011 season, and the deadline for registration was November 30th 2010.

 
CAF calculates points based on the clubs’ performance over the last 5 years in the Orange Champions League and Orange Confederation Cup, not taking into considering the running year. The criteria for points are the following:
 

Orange Champions League
Orange Confederation Cup
Winner                    : 5 points
Winner                    : 4 points
Runner up               : 4 points
Runner up                : 3 points
Semi-finalists          : 3 points
2nd of the groups      : 2 points
3rd of the groups      : 2 points
3rd & 4th of groups    : 1 point
4th of the groups      : 1 point
 

 
The points shall be multiplied by a coefficient according to the year as follow:
2009 – 5
2008 – 4
2007 – 3
2006 – 2
2005 – 1
 
The top 12 countries ranked over the period 2005-2009 earn the right to engage 2 clubs in each CAF Club Competitions for the year 2011.
