President Motsepe lauds the success of Beach Soccer AFCON in Senegal

CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe met the press on Saturday afternoon at the Saly Beach Soccer Stadium before attending the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations, Senegal 2021 final.

Dr. Motsepe met earlier on the day with the President of the Senegalese Republic, H.E. Mr. Macky Sall. He lauded the successful organization of the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations, paying tribute to the work done by Mr. Augustin Senghor, President of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) and CAF 1st Vice-President.

The situation of infrastructures in Africa, the reflections on the periodicity of the FIFA World Cup and the pan-African CAF / FIFA inter-schools’ championship were also on the agenda.

"I would like to express my immense gratitude to my brother and friend Augustin Senghor, President of the Senegalese Football Federation, who is also my 1st Vice President. I think Senegal should be satisfied and happy to have produced the CAF first Vice-President.

“I am very proud of the excellent work done by President Senghor here in Senegal, and also in Africa and the rest of the world, as CAF Vice-President.”

Meeting with President Macky Sall

"It is true that today is about football and Beach Soccer, but I have to say that President Macky Sall and I have known each other for many years.

“We have worked together in the creation of partnerships in the private sector in order to attract the maximum investment in Africa and in Senegal.

“He represents this generation of African leaders who are proud of his position on the global issue. That's why it's important for our work together to be continued.”
