Housed in Group B considered to be the toughest in the final tournament, Vihiga Queens will have to show all their talent and realism by tackling the TotalEnergies CAF Women's Champions League, which will kick off on November 5 in Cairo.

Facing opponents like South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns, Morocco’s ASFAR, Nigeria’s Rivers Angels, the task will be daunting for the Kenyans. A view shared by head coach Boniface Nyamuhnyamuh.

“Being in a continental tournament that is bringing out from zonal qualifiers, I do believe that each and every one who qualified to participate in is the best in their region and is therefore a wealthy competitor that should not be underrated. This is a tournament that has brought together the best eight women clubs of 2021 in Africa. But All in all, we believe in ourselves, and we are preparing adequately for this inaugural competition.”, said NyamuhNyamuh.

He added; “I agree with many people who are likening group B which we are part of as the Group of death. It is a tight group. And as a coach, I'm preparing my team with the understanding that each game will be very competitive. The same way we prepared for the zonal qualifiers; we had training hard, underrating no one and giving 100% in every game.

“We are coming to Egypt to do our best and win the tournament and become the inaugural CAF Women's Champions League champions. With the trust in the Almighty word, hard work, teamwork, and unit, I sincerely believe it will be possible because we are Vihiga Queens, the legacy makers.”

Vihiga Queens, who won the CECAFA qualifier last September, will start his campaign on November 6 against Mamelodi Sundowns at the Military Academy Stadium in Cairo, before facing ASFAR on November 9 in the same enclosure and closing his group stage against Rivers Angels on November 12 at the 30 June Stadium.
