The Somali Premier League returns on Thursday (18 June 2020) following the authorization of State Authorities to resume sporting activities.
The league was halted on March 18 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to restrictions on all sport activities across the country.
“We have come to the end of expected disruptions on our beautiful game. I am delighted to announce that Somali Premier League will be the first sport to be resumed in the country, as Horseed Sports Club will take on Raadsan FC on Thursday” Somali Football Federation (SFF) president, Abdiqani Said Arab, said.
He added that the medical guidelines from the Government and FIFA will be followed strictly to ensure the safety of players and staff.
According to the SFF, the matches will be played behind closed doors until further notice.
