Gambia hosts Club Licensing workshop

The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) hosted a CAF Club Licensing workshop from 22-23 February 2016 in the coastal town of Kololi.

The two-day workshop was to educate participants on the necessary criteria in management of the CAF Club Licensing scheme was attended by representatives of all 12 clubs in Gambia’s elite division.

CAF Instructor, Dominic Oneye said: “We are here in The Gambia to facilitate the Club Licensing process. The seminar will avail your clubs the opportunity to improve football administration and financial structures”.

On his part, GFF president Lamin Kabba Bajo said the club licensing system is becoming a major requirement for clubs in the continent.

“In a very short period, it would be mandatory for all clubs who want to participate in CAF tournaments to fully comply with the regulations”, said Bajo, whilst reaffirming his outfit’s commitment towards building capacity in all aspects of the development of the game.

The instructors for the workshop were Paul Bassey (Nigeria) - Administration, Legal and Finance, Dominic Oneya (Nigeria) - Infrastructure and Francis Oti Akenteng (Ghana) - Sporting.
