CAF's Refereeing Panel of Experts have expressed its anger to the General Secretary following the physical assault suffered by the referees at the end of the second leg of the quarter-finals of the Confederation Cup between ASC the Jaraaf of Dakar and Coton Sport FC in Cameroon.

CAF General Secretary , Veron Mosengo-Omba, strongly condemns these attacks on the physical integrity of match officials and wishes the injured a speedy recovery. He has called for an in-depth investigation by the competent bodies of CAF.

“These acts of incivility cannot be tolerated. They have no place in our football, but unfortunately, they tend to become widespread on the pitch. CAF reserves the right to revise the scales of sanctions upwards, for these acts ”, declared Mr. Mosengo-Omba, who takes this opportunity to confirm his intention to make proposals for in-depth reform of CAF's judicial bodies that allow it to act more effectively.
