Naby Yattara, experience on Guinea's line

He is one of the most experienced players in this 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations. At 35 years and 5 months, Naby Moussa Yattara plays his fourth and certainly last AFCON with Guinea’s Syli Nationale.

Excelsior Reunion goalkeeper is still optimistic that Guinea can achieve a good result against Algeria this Sunday to go far in the competition, even if he has not played a match in Egypt.

"His experience in the group is beneficial especially to coach the young selected in the Syli Nationale," says the Belgian coach of Guinea, Paul Put.

Yattara has been selected with the Syli Nationale for AFCON in 2008 (Ghana), 2012 (Gabon- Equatorial Guinea) and 2015 (Equatorial Guinea).

On the lands of the Pharaohs, the goalkeeper who has 51 caps and who crisscrossed the championships, still remains behind the number one, Ibrahima Koné.

Currently, Koné is in a better shape and has the confidence of his coach. He blocked the road to Yattara in the starting 11 which will face Les Fennecs in the round of 16 this Sunday. Moreover, his vast international experience on the ground remains a credible alternative on Guinea’s bench.
