Moussa Koné – The Eagle to carry Mali hopes

At 30, Mali striker Moussa Koné impressed so much in the ongoing CHAN.

Koné who plays for Real Bamako helped The Eagles in the most beautiful to reach the semi-finals of the Total African Nations Championship, Cameroon 2020.

Author of great performances since the start of the tournament, Koné remains optimistic that his side can go to the ultimate and raise the trophy on February 7th in Yaoundé.

"It's true that we are in the semi-finals, but everything remains to be done" Koné told CAFOnline.com.

Born on December 19, 1990, Koné hopes to catch the eye of recruiters present in Cameroon, and thus pursue his international career.

The striker started his career with local club ASKO, a year later he joined Real de Bamako with whom he finished as the league top scorer. Koné then joined MAS Fez in Morocco for two seasons, including a six-month loan spell in Oman.

Koné then returned home to join Stade Malien, where he once again finished the league as top scorer, before returning to Real Bamako in December 2020.

For his coach Nouhoum Diané, he remains one of the best players in the Malian league. "He is a powerful, hard-hitting and decisive player," the Eagles coach told Cafonline.com. "Koné is able to put the defense under pressure throughout the game. He is known for his abilities, intelligence and efficiency. We hope that he will find all his means on Wednesday against Guinea to score goals," added Diané.

The striker dreams of victory against Syli Nationale this Wednesday at the Japoma stadium in Douala. “We have to win against Guinea and go to the final. We will do our best to get this victory and end the tournament in style. We want to win the CHAN title for our country," concluded Koné.
