RS Berkane to group stage, 15 more to follow

Results of Quarter Finals draw

The draw for the 2020/21 Total CAF Confederation Cup Additional 2nd Preliminary Round was done at CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt on Friday 8 January 2021.

The draw, conducted by CAF Head of competitions Khlaed Nassar, assisted by Egypt’s legend Hossam Ghaly, paired the sides qualifying from the CC 2nd Preliminary round against sides relegated from the same round of the Total CAF CL, for a place in the group stage.

Following the withdrawal of Gazelle FC (CHA) from the Total CAF Champions League 2020/21, only 15 clubs will join the Total CAF Confederation Cup 2020/21’s additional 2nd preliminary round. Consequently, there were 15 teams from CL and 16 teams from CC.

In order to offset this difference, the highest ranked CC team according to CAF’s official clubs ranking for the 2020/21 season automatically qualified to the group stage of the competition.

In case of equality in ranking points, the team that received more points in the previous season will be considered as the higher ranked team. Accordingly, RS Berkane (Morocco) automatically qualified to the group stage of the Total CAF Confederation Cup 2020/21.
