Baghdad Bounedjah wins Man of the Match in Burkina Faso draw

Algerian attacker, Baghdad Bounedjah put up a solid performance against Burkina Faso in their TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Côte d'Ivoire 2023 second game to win the TotalEnergies Man of the Match.

The attacker brought Algeria back into the game twice when Burkina Faso had taken the lead on both occasions.

Speaking after the game, Bounedjah said the team had a discussion with the coach after the first half and they came into the second half much stronger. 

“We had a discussion about the game and talked about the tactical aspect of the game. If we are in there, we will draw. We had a discussion with the coach as a team and agreed to comeback stronger in the second half,” he said after.

The 32-year old with three goals, has scored all of Algeria’s goals in the TotalEnergies CAF AFCON Côte d'lvoire 2023.
