CHIPOLOPOLO PLAYERS SURVIVE ROAD ACCIDENT

Three Zambia players this morning survived a road accident which left two people dead in a road tragedy that happened 140 kilometers north of the capital, Lusaka. Medics attending to the three victims have assured that the trio is out of danger. Defender Nyambe Mulenga, U-17 midfielder Changwe Kalale and Green Eagles goalkeeper Satchmo Chakawa were traveling to Lusaka for a training camp for the Orange Africa Cup of Nations Equatorial Guinea 2015 when th ey were involved in an accident, near Green Restaurant in Kabwe.

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) General Secretary, George Kasengele  visited the victims at Kabwe General Hospital, where he discovered that Mulenga, a member of the Chipolopolo winning team at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations has suffered a fracture on his right leg and has several la cerations on the body, and is expected to be out for at least 12 weeks, ruling him out of next year's tournament.

Kalale also suffered a fracture on his left leg and has a deep cut on the right side of the head and a broken right arm whilst goalkeeper Chakawa has a ruptured spleen and a ruptured bladder.

Zambia are housed in Group B alongside Cape Verde, Tunisia and DR Congo.
