Pharaohs’ name depleted squad for final bow

Egypt coach, Shawky Gharib has named a depleted squad of 26 players for the Orange Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Senegal and Tunisia next week.
Goalkeeper Sherif Ekramy is out injured just as his Al-Ahly teammates, Saad Samir and striker Amr Gamal, whilst Zamalek midfielder Ayman Hefny was also left out of the squad for the two crucial games.
Gharib named only six foreign-based players for the final two games of the qualifying campaign, handing surprise call-ups to Arab Contractors striker, Mohamed Salem and ENPPI goalie, Ali Lotfi.
The seven-time African champions will face Senegal on Saturday, 15 November 2014 in Cairo before travelling to Monastir four days later as guests of rivals, Tunisia.
The Egyptians, who failed to qualify for the last two editions of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2012 and 2013, have six points, four adrift of leaders, Tunisia whilst Senegal are on seven points. The Zebras sit at the depth of Group G with no point.
