At 22, Mali’s Moussa Kyabou dreams of playing in England. The midfielder made a good start with his team to the ongoing CHAN 2020 in Cameroon, to see the Eagles beating Burkina Faso in the opening day.

He spoke to CAFOnline.com citing his ambition is to win the CHAN title, and then secure a career abroad.

CAFOnline.com: First game and first win in Total CHAN 2020. How did you see the game against Burkina Faso?

Kyabou: The match was very close. Since we started preparations in Bamako, we have been determined with the sole objective of achieving the best possible start in the competition. In this kind of tournament, the main thing is to earn points to qualify for the next round. Overall, we had a good game considering the preparation conditions with our home league being stopped for several months, while Burkina Faso players had at least four league matches. Our team can go far in this tournament.

Your next match is against hosts Cameroon. What is your approach?

Cameroon is a good team, and they are the host country. But as I said, Mali is here to win matches and go as far as possible. It's up to us to manage our game and gain more points before the quarterfinals.

Do you see Total CHAN as a showpiece for domestic based players?

I am here with Mali to win the tournament. I want to mark my name in the history of Malian football. It will also allow me to see further opportunities abroad. We must give our best to have a good CHAN, and then seek chances. My dream is to play in England. I love their football, and with this kind of competitions we have the chance to prove our ability to go elsewhere.
