Pre-match quotes: Uganda vs Cote d’Ivoire

Published:

Sebastien Desabre (Head Coach, Uganda)

Our target is now to finish third in the group. We want the maximum points against Cote d’Ivoire. I know the league in Cote d’Ivoire because I was there for two years. I know some of the players but I have to stay focus.

We didn’t qualify for the quarter finals because of some weaknesses but I will ask my players to continue playing good football.

I hope they can covert the chances that will come their way. It is important to stay third and I hope we can achieve that by beating Cote d’Ivoire, which is an equally good team.

Bernard Muwanga (Captain, Uganda)

The CHAN is an important tournament for us as players. It is an opportunity for us to show what we can put on the table. It is a challenge to get better and we need to do better. We think that we still have something to prove.

Ibrahim Kamara (Head Coach, Cote d’Ivoire)

We will play for the national pride. It will be terrible to finish the tournament with three losses. That will be a disaster. We have to show Ivorians that this team has potential. We have to fight for victory.

We would have loved to be in a better state of mind before this game. Unfortunately, the competition is over us.
